DANCE POLICY:
This year, the Winter Formal includes a time of dancing. It is important that you read, understand, and follow the guidelines regarding this activity.
Guidelines: This is open dancing, so students will be allowed to dance freely under the following guidelines:
1) Students are expected to dance appropriately. There will not be “freaking,” “grinding,” or any other form of dancing that is irresponsible or immodest.
2) Students who dance irresponsibly or immodestly will be asked to leave the dance floor permanently, and may be subject to disciplinary action
3) Students understand that they must remain in dress code during the dancing portion of the event.
4) All dance attendees may be subject to search upon entry. Items that will be confiscated include, but not limited to: any liquid container, food containers, food.
5) Students who are in possession of, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be removed and their parents will be notified.
6) There is no exit and re-entry at dances. Once entering a dance, students are not allowed to leave until 30 minutes prior to the end of the dance. You must have parent permission to leave the dance early.
7)The ASB Advisor and student leadership reserve the right to cancel the dance activity if the students do not conduct themselves appropriately.
DRESS POLICY:
This is a semi-formal event and students should dress appropriately. All clothing should be modest and VCS appropriate. Any student who is dressed immodestly will be ask to call a parent, leave the event (without a refund), and may be subject to additional disciplinary action. This is a school event and student behavior and attire is subject to the VCS Student Handbook.
Ladies: A semi-formal cocktail dress is encouraged, not a formal ball gown. If your dress is spaghetti straps or strapless, you must wear a sweater or wrap during the event. Remember, modesty is important so err on the conservative side or you may be asked to leave the event.
Gentlemen: Gentlemen are expected to wear shirts and ties; jackets are optional. Jeans, tennis shoes, t-shirts, baseball caps, or other casual attire is not allowed. This is a semi-formal event and anyone not in dress code will be asked to leave the event. In addition, gentlemen will not be allowed to remove their dress shirts during the event.

6) Students must be picked up immediately following the conclusion of the dance. If your student is using Uber, Lyft, or other forms of a taxi, then you need to sign with your permission.
7) Students are expected to follow all conduct guidelines as outlined in the VCS student handbook.

I promise to adhere to all rules and regulations of Village Christian High School. I agree to all terms and conditions of DRESS and DANCE for this event. I understand that I will be asked to leave the event (without a refund) and could be considered for additional consequences if I do not comply.
